It was a good sign how the evening would turn out when the first two trophies of the event, live from L.A.'s Nokia Theatre, went to TV spouses Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell for their outstanding supporting roles on

The ABC comedy went on to take home awards for directing and writing as well, before being named Outstanding Comedy at the end of the broadcast.
