Suffolk Community College won NJCAA championship

Suffolk Community College wins against Herkimer’s Generals by 2-1 on Sunday in home field and claimed their first ever NJCAA championship. This was the undefeated season for the Suffolk and had defeated Herkimer 3-2 in overtime.
Frank Vertullo, the coach of Suffolk, said that he knew the team would do some special this time after the team met first time at Tompkins-Cartland Community College in August.
The Clippers first defeated Richland College from Texas on Friday by 1-0 to win the Division III championship. Herkimer and Richland have won 9 times in 11 national championships. This Sunday’s match was 12th appearance of Herkimer.
In the match each team got early goal and till halftime it was a tie. In the second half Herkimer kept pressure, but their mistake made Suffolk to make two goals.
